Mashup Monday 10/31/11

There is nothing better than opening up a Mashup Monday with a new release from Kaskade himself. Next  is a mashup by the Dutchman DJ Chuckie as he mixes Avicii with Edward Maya which is probably my favorite mashup in this post. Those are the two mashups that really stood out to me, the rest are just a special treat tonight on Halloween.

Dada Life – Happy Violence (Caveat Remix) + Previews

So I’m cruising around on Soundcloud seeing if there’s any music worth posting, lots of Halloween mashups and remixes but nothing too special. Then Dada Life posts a few tracks, all remixes of Happy Violence one being a remix by Caveat along with a few previews by Kaskade, Swanky Tunes, and Uppermost. The Caveat remix is incredible, I’ve never heard of him before so i started looking around and it turns out that he’s only sixteen! He has a lot of talent and sound like he’s been doing this forever, keep an eye out for him.

Flo Rida Stole Pretty Lights’ “Finally Moving”

Apparently Flo Rida figured that no one would notice his new song  Good Feeling’s beat was stolen from Pretty Lights’ song Finally Moving. Pretty Lights had this to say on Facebook today “just wanna let people know that I have nothing to do with the new Flo Rida track on the radio. Someone apparently liked Finally Moving and had it remade for pop rap radio. I thought they just used the same vocal sample, but when I heard the guitar riff it was obvious that my track was jacked and flipped at a much faster tempo. It’s all good, just want to clarify that I didn’t collaborate with Flo Rida”. I’ll let the music do the talking I believe the Pretty Lights versions on the song are much better and original. The lyrics are from an Etta James sample, which isn’t the issue. The issue is that Flo Rida used the actual song Finally Moving and sped it up.

The video above is  of Flo Rida’s remake (or what he calls original) and these songs below are  the Pretty Lights versions.

Finally Moving (Original Mix)- Pretty Lights

Finally Moving (Remix)- Pretty Lights

Breakn’ a Sweat (Rip) – Skrillex feat. The Doors

Our first post on our site a few weeks ago was about a project called RE: Generation. The project was made to see how our musical past is influencing the future of music. 5 DJ’s were chosen for this project to collaborate with some of today’s most well-known musicians from different genres. We recently found a rip of Skrillex’s song that features The Doors and thought we would post it to give you a preview of how epic RE: Generation is going to be.

Check out RE: Generations Facebook  or their website.

When I’m Alone (Ellie Goulding) – Klaypex

Even though this is the millionth time an Ellie Goulding song has been remixed I felt that Klaypex’s remix was worth posting. The Miami native threw together a perfect electo-dubstep remix of the radio hit. This is by far the best remix of When I’m Alone that I have heard and there are a lot of mixes out there. Klaypex is an up and coming artist that I recommend you watch for in the future because his tracks improve significantly every time he releases new music.

Some TIMarbury For You

Heard of TIMarbury? Well if you haven’t I suggest you listen up because TIMarbury, also known as Chris Innelli, has some crazy electro/dubstep tracks for you. He is a 19 year old producer from New York, who sees himself as, “an “Underground” producer, meaning I am an unsigned artist who basically just makes music because I enjoy it and have a passion”. Such a great way to put it and you can tell he really does love producing music, every track is real upbeat and exciting. Everything you would expect from an electro track mixed with some dubstep. Check em out.

TIMarbury- Drop The Rage

TIMarbury- Epic Sax Guy

TIMarbury- TT.FM Dubstep Anthem #1

If you’re a little confused by this song, try checking out turntable.fm. Just click on one of the rooms that catches your interest and listen to people from everywhere play some tracks for you.
